Day 28 - Sunshine

I had to leave work early to deal with a sick child. The daycare gave me a list of problems all of which seemed fine by the time we got home. Figures. Since I was home the animals had a chance to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. Bella, the dalmatian, whines until you put a pillow in the sun for her. I swear she's at least 35% cat. Spike, the cat, also enjoyed the sunshine. These two are enemies but the sunshine was worth making peace for.

Day 27 - Miss #4?

Another miss on this day. I think it was miss #4. I thought about it when I was laying in bed but it wasn't important enough to get up for. Sorry guys.

Day 26 - Something old, my wood floor

One of the things I love about this house is the origional refinished pine floors in the kitchen and two of the bedrooms. They are irreplacable. The boards are super wide, I included the hotwheels car to show the scale. Even better they are very forgiving when it comes to dirt. Not that my floors are ever dirty. Ha!

The challenge this week was something old. This one just happens to be wooden too.

Day 25 - Scratching Post

Spike needed a scratching post. We picked this one up at Costco and he's quite impressed.

Day 24 - FarmVille

Thanks to friends on Facebook and especially the thread on LMs, yesterday I tried FarmVille. I'm totally addicted. Not good because I SO do not have time for it. Oh well. Does anyone else play? Wanna be my neighbour?

Day 23 - Natural light

I was running around the house getting everyone ready for hockey when I noticed the sunlight shining on my bouquet. I had to take a moment to snap a shot. I always thought natural light took a better picture but I don't think it did in this case. The gerber daisy is washed out. Once again I need to learn more about photography.

Day 22 - Playing with my camera

My MIL and SIL brought a beautiful bouquet to celebrate our announcement. I played around with manual settings on my Rebel. The best shots were taken on auto. What did I learn? I need to learn more about my camera. Any advice on how?

These were taken with the flash as it was already dark when they brought the bouquet.

Day 21 - My Other Project of 2010

I've been keeping a secret from everyone aside from 1 friend who guessed a couple of weeks early. Tentitive due date Aug 5th. Okay I didn't take this picture but it's a picture of me so that counts right?

Day 20 - Wood

This week I was challenged to take a picture of something made out of wood. The first thing that came to mind is our wood pile. We heated with wood growing up and I swore I would never burn wood in my house. It's SO much work. Our new house has a wood fireplace and I now realize wood is free (except for the labour) but propane is expensive. So everyday my first task when I get home from work (besides wrangling the kids) is to start the fireplace just like I'm doing in the second picture. Fun, fun.

Day 19 - Two patients

If you've been keeping count, Norwalk like virus 3, unscathed 1. That's right it was Scott's turn last night. How Christopher, the 2 year old who puts everything in his mouth, has managed to avoid it this long is beyond me. Spike the cat also had his neuter today. Tonight I have two patients on my hands, mind you they are both feeling okay at this point. A pic for future prosperity.

Day 18 - Cat in a Cage

I was playing on the computer when I heard a growl. Not terribly unusual but worth investigating. This is what I found. Bella was not impressed that Spike was trying out her cage. Who knew a cage could provide so much entertainment.

Day 17 - Please Don't Call Children's Aid

They say a picture is worth 1000 words. Fill in the blanks for this one.

Day 16 - Hat Party

Every year friends from highschool get together for a Christmas party. This year we hosted, on day 16 as we couldn't find time to hold it before Christmas. The kids got into the dress-up box and the hats were a big hit. I'm posting pics of my kids and my BFF from highschool with her boyfriend. They love getting their picture taken together and I think it's adorable.

Day 15 - Poor Spike

My 2 year old loves to carry the cat around, through him down the stairs, sit on him, pull his tail. Why that cat gets within 2 metres of that kid is beyond me. Here they are cuddling on the couch, not by Spike's choice.

Day 14 - My Turn

Miss #3. Remember on Day 12 how I said Jeremy was sick with a nasty gastero infection? Well today it was my turn. I don't think I've ever been so sick in all my life. Thankfully it was short lived and by the next day the gastero part was gone and I was just weak and tired. Yeah for sick days and sending the boys to daycare. Needless to say no picture.

Day 13 - Scott

Last but not least I will introduce my husband Scott. We have been married for 6.5 years, dated for 5ish years before that and knew each other through high school (but that's another story). Can you tell which parent my boys look like? Ha.

Day 12 - Sick Jeremy

On day 12 I got Jeremy off the bus and knew something wasn't right. He told me he should have gone to daycare because he shouldn't have been on the bus. It wasn't long before he was sick, very sick, for a long time, with a nasty gastero bug. We let him fall asleep on the couch so we could keep an eye on him. Poor guy.

Day 11 - Miss #2

I had another day where I didn't take any pictures. I was too tired after our weekend away. I needed a vacation from my vacation but went back to work anyway. Fun, fun.

Day 10 - Bye, Bye Resort

If you are ever looking for a place to stay in Collingwood I recommend the Cranberry Resort's Waterfront Suites. Beautiful huge rooms with two bathrooms and a full kitchen perfect for a large family. The downside is there is no pool in the building, you have to drive over to the main building.

Here's a pic I snapped as we were leaving.

Day 9 - Blue Mountain

For Christmas my Grandfather and his wife decided to take the family to Collingwood for the weekend. Everyone had a great time. Saturday everyone went to Blue Mountain. Some people, like Christopher and my parents, hung around the lounge, some people like Scott, Jeremy and I, took lessons, and the rest hit the more difficult slopes. Todays pictures are of Jeremy the ski bunny? No I think he was saying "r" like a pirate.

Day 8 - Two pics

Today two pics. The first was the view from my master bedroom window. I was busy packing and cleaning (we had family staying at our house) for a weekend away but had to take time to snap a few pics.

The second is of the boys in "the best bathtub ever" at the hotel. It had jets and they were quite impressed.

Day 7 - Spike

Today I'm going to introduce our newest addition to our family. Our kitten Spike. The vet tells me he's about 6 months old. Family has a farm over run with cats and they chose one for us based on personality. He's the perfect fit and takes everything the boys dish out, which include carrying him upside down, screaming in his face to scare him, smushing him and far too many other things a cat should never be subjected to. We named him Spike because until he and Bella adjusted to each other his hair was always standing on end. Plus it's just funny becuase he's such a softy. I suspect Spike will grow to be a great big suck, either that or a nervous wreck. :-)

Day 6 - Jeremy

Today I will introduce Jeremy with the cheesiest smile ever. Jeremy is our oldest. He's 4.5, loves playing hockey, loves junior kindergarten (ever other day) and tolerates daycare (he use to love it but "big school" is better). Everyday after I get him off the bus he shares the rest of his lunch with his brother. Aka he gives Christopher anything he doesn't want to eat. Christopher thinks it's great, silly guy. Jeremy has the big brother thing all figured out.

Day 5 - My first miss

Note the lack of picture for Day 5. I didn't take any pictures on Day 5. I thought about it, but didn't get that far. Only 5 days in and I missed a day. Oh well.

Day 4 - Christopher

Today I'm introducing my youngest Christopher. He was not so patiently waiting for an escort out to the rink. He's almost 2.5 and loves skating, for very short periods of time. He can wiggle his way across the ice but prefers support. As you can tell Scott and the boys have been getting much use out of our rink. I'll have to talk about it on another day.

In the second picture you can see his brown eyes. Our oldest is a miniture version of his father, but Christopher has a little bit of me in him, brown eyes included.

Day 3 - Puck Bunny

Meet Bella, my dalmatian. I've always loved dalmatians, hence the nickname Spots. I finally brought one into my life 5 1/2 years ago and she's been part of our family ever since.

Today we were out playing hockey on our rink and Bella kept stealing the puck, bugger. She reluctantly came onto the ice. She may be a cute puck bunny, but she's not very helpful.

Day 2

I realize I said I was going to introduce everyone first but today, Saturday, I worked which only happens once every two months or so. I took advantage of the quiet and took a few pictures of my "office". I obviously don't work in an office, I work in a lab. A cytogenetics lab where I spend much of my time on this microscope. Sounds fun right? :p Seeing this picture makes me realize how messy my desk really is. I should do something about that. So if don't post everyday I blame work. I do spend 40 hours a week, plus commute, there.

These pictures were taken on my Canon elph. I imagine I'll keep it in use as sometimes it's important to have a pocket size camera.

Day 1

After much wrestling with my new camera (Canon Rebel T1i) and computer I finally got pictures off of it. Yeah!

I technically didn't take this picture, but I made Scott (DH) take it, so that counts right? I have very few pictures of myself. I take most of the pictures and don't like getting my own picture taken. So here you go.

Welcome

Welcome to my Project 365. What is a 365 Project? You take a picture a day for a year and talk about it. It's as simple as that. Over the the first few days and weeks I plan to introuduce myself, my family and our pets. After that we'll see what this blog brings.
