Day 57 - 17 Weeks

Day 57 (not the day I am posting this) I had an ultrasound on my thyroid. I have a nodule they are keeping an eye on JIC. I mentioned to the tech I was 17 weeks. She was super nice and said when she was finished with the thyroid she'd have a look at baby. Baby looks great! We saw a perfect little hand facing the scope as if to say "stop". Silly baby. I even got two pics. What a pleasent surprise.

Day 56 - Something Sticky

The challenge for this week was something sticky. Thurs Christopher was sent home early with pink-eye. I made good use of the vacation time I had to take and made Martha's cupcake brownies. I let the boys have the bowl and beaters while I cleaned up. This is what I found.

Day 55 - Laundry Helper

Jeremy has taken it upon himself to be the official laundry sorter, washer and dryer in the house. Too bad the folder (DH) isn't as enthusiastic. There are piles waiting to be folded.

Day 54 - Future Olympians?

Today I asked the boys what sport they would like to play at the olympics. Jeremy said "a fast skiier." Super G perhaps? Christopher didn't have anything to say but everytime curling comes on the TV he yells "HARD". It's too cute. Very appropriate for someone with our last name don't you think.

Day 53 - Miss #5

It's been awhile since I've had a miss. I blame this one on a nasty cold. The only time I get sick is when I'm pregnant. Fun, fun. NOT!

Day 52 - Jerermy wins Gold!

Today Jeremy played hockey in his very first tournament. He played the other half of his age group. He, and everyone else on both teams, won a MVP medal. He is THRILLED as you can see in the pic.

Day 51 - Cranky Christopher

I had to work today, on a Saturday. Boo! Even better I had to stay an hour late. Big BOO! I forgot all about taking pictures. Instead a picture the the mood of the toddler I came home to. Cranky Christopher. His Daddy must have worn him out today.

Day 50 - Something Blue

The challenge for this week was Something Blue. I actually took this pic on Day 48, and forgot to take one for Day 50, so I'll slip it in here.

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant with baby #3. We do not know if baby is a boy or a girl and we do not plan on finding out prior to his/her birth. This is baby's room, still being converted from Christopher's room to baby's room. Note the wall colour. If baby is a boy perfect, if baby is a girl we'll make sure it gets painted before she turns 6. :p

So my something blue is my not so gender neutral nursery.

Day 49 - Women's Halfpike

I know someone who competed at the olympics. I watched as much of her as I could on the internet. She's related by marriage. She's my late Grandfather's wife's Great Neice. Sarah Conrad. Okay so it's a 6 degrees of seperation kind of thing but it's the closest connection I've ever had to an olympian. Unfortuantly she didn't make it past semifinals. Maybe next time.

Day 48 - Crazy Hair

It was Crazy Hair day at daycare. The staff commented how the heck I had time to do their hair when we have a 30 minute commute and I have to be to work by 7 am. It was actually easier to get them out the door because they were excited to show off their hair.

Day 47 - Spot Book

I think almost everyone I have ever met knows I have a slight affection, okay, okay, a complete obsession, with dalmatians. An online friend mailed me this book she found in her travels. How thoughtful!

Day 46 - Fish

Initially I neglected to introduce our fish. They started their life in a rain barrel, then retired to an aquarium. We were rearranging furniture and had to temporarily rehome the fish. Spike the cat was VERY impressed.

Day 45 - Animal Bunkbed

Apparently the animals are jelouse of the boys new bunkbed so they created their own.

Day 44 - Lightbox

Over the past month I have been very slowly constructing a lightbox for taking still pictures for my Etsy shop. I can't buy one locally and shipping via E-bay is CRAZY ridiculous so I'm trying to make my own. I played with it today but wasn't happy with the results. I need more lights. I could play with PhotoShop but not today.

Day 43 - New Bed and a Question

When we bought this house one of the major disadvantages was there were only 3 bedrooms upstairs (two roughed in the basement of the addition) and the upstairs bedrooms are all very small.

We want the new baby to have his/her own room so put the boys together. As you can see from the before pics with two twin beds there was very little floor space left, and I couldn't use the dresser without moving Christopher's mattress. The solution was a bunkbed, or in this case a loft bed we put our own bed underneith. We splurged on a BelAir bed from The Children's Furniture Gallery. They are made in London, ON and only sold at the one store. We did save $300 by not purchasing the twin bed frame that comes with this loft and bought it at the Boxing Week sale. We love the stairs. I'm not confident in our boys climbing skills and I worried they would hurt themselves on a ladder.

I can't decide which size of mattress I want to put underneith. I'm thinking queen so that if someone does manage to fall off the bunk they will have a soft landing. Although the extra floor space the twin offers is nice. What do you think?

Day 42 - The Boys Room Before

The gods must know I'm writing this daily blog. I was hoping to have both before and after pictures today but it wasn't to be. The bed was missing parts (which is a story in itself). So today before and an empty room pic. Their room is actually a lime/apple green, not as yellow like it looks on my monitor.

Day 41 - JK is a Dangerous Place

Jeremy got off the bus with this wound. Apparently he was at the block centre and someone threw a block. His subsitute teacher put a note in his mail bag but I was shocked that was the only thing. If the same thing happened at daycare I would have received a phone call at work (for any wound to the face) and would have had to sign an incident report form which recorded all the details of the event. I'm still getting use to having a child in Junior Kindergarten.

Day 40 - Etsy

I have been very slowly working on a custom request from my Etsy shop. The yellow is actually lime green but didn't photograph well. I'm going to have trouble getting that listed. Stop by my shop if you never have before. http://angelaspots.etsy.com I will admit it has been neglected lately. I blame this project. :p

Day 39 - Something Borrowed

The challenge for this week is to take a picture of something borrowed. Excuse the mess I was too tired to declutter and afraid to disrupt my DH's file system. :p

Technically we are storing these items for my SIL until she gets her own place, but we're suppose to be using them so we are. I don't think she's getting them back. :p The table is bar height and has 2 more chairs which aren't in the pic. It's not practical for the kids to eat at, but makes a great desk as it is out of their reach and the view during the daytime is great as the window looks out onto farm feilds.

Day 38 - Slap your Troubles Away

I finally tried a new recipe I had high hopes for. It's good, but not as great as I hoped, which is probably a good thing as I have no will power these days. Years ago I bought The Pampered Chef version of the "Slap Chop". It's SO much better quality than the slap chop, but in all honesty it's a gadget that could easily be replaced by a knife.

Here's the recipe from http://www.peanutbureau.ca/Canada/index.cfm?fuseaction=recipe.viewRecipe&recipe_id=150 if you're interested.

Peanut Blast Squares

Day 37 - IP Hockey is Exciting

Watching your brother play hockey when you are 2 is just SO exciting. NOT! Taken on my cellphone, hence the poor quality.

Day 36 - Something New Part 2

Part 2 of the "Something New" challenge. When we had the air conditioner installed we also had a new furnace, extensive ductwork and an air exchanger installed. When we bought the house we knew about the duct work but we were hoping to put off the others for a few years. No such luck. Since we plan to be here for a long time we put in top of the line equipment, which should save us money on utility bills in the long run. Which translated means these are the only new things we are getting for a very long time. Booo.

Day 35 - Wearing Pajamas to Work?

When I talk about pajama day I usually talk about the kids. I would have never expected that my husband who works as a financial analyist for a regional telecommunications company to have pajama day. Sure enough he did, as a fundraiser for The Red Cross's efforts in Haiti. I had to take a picture and he had to grab a kid so he wasn't the only one in the pic. I still can't get over he actually wore that to work and apparently most of the office, including his seniors, wore pajamas too.

Day 34 - Something New

Part 1 of the weekly challenge, "Something New." Our new airconditioner. It was installed in November and we haven't even tried it out yet (or paid off the LOC). I hope it was worth the investment come August when I'm 9 months pregnant.

Day 33 - A Cat and a Copycat

I swear they share a brain. It was Christopher's idea but Jeremy had to try it out too. Can you tell they love getting their picture taken?

Day 32 - Knitting for Baby

The bad thing about getting past my first month of this project is now I have to think about the day. Before the number always matched the date.

This pic is the beginning of a hat which is the beginning of a layette I plan to knit for my baby to be (I'm 13 weeks). I take my knitting to work and get about 15 minutes to work on it during break which is considerably more time than I get at home. Stay tuned to see how much I actually finish before this little one decides to join us.

Day 31 - A Christmas toy discovered

This Christmas present managed to escape my LOs interest until now. It kept them entertained for hours. Bonus!

Day 30 - Hockey Day in Canada

To celebrate Hockey Day in Canada my 4 year old's hockey team had their first ever away game. They played Embro. They didn't keep score but the teams seemed equally matched. Jeremy even took a turn in goal. I forgot my good cameras. This was taken with my phone.

Day 29 - Another Something Old, Bowfront

The something old challenge was so easy I had to take two. This is my bowfront china cabinet. It was a wedding gift from my parents although I actually bought it myself at an antiques auction. I always wanted a bowfront and I love this one because it is huge. Disregard the hockey bag that found it's way into the pic.
