Day 64 - My trailer park meal

I joke that this is my trailer park meal because it uses Mr Noodles. Sounds weird I know but it's super yummy, a family fav.

1 pre-cooked pork tenderloin cut into bite size pieces (or sub any meat you want or leave it out)
3 lg carrots thinly sliced
3 pkgs Oriental Mr Noodles
3 cups of water
1 green pepper cut into small peices
3 green onions cut into small peices

Over med heat in a large frying pan with a lid, either cook or warm pre-cooked meat.
Add carrots with a bit of water and cook until barely tender.
Add Mr Noodles and water. Cook until noodles are soft but slightly under cooked.
Add green pepper and continue to took for 1 min.
Add green onions and serve. Noodles should be soft but not overcooked.

Day 63 - Fire!

It's been a long cold two weeks. We stopped using our fireplace because SO much smoke was coming into the house. We had the chimeny cleaned on this day and apparently it was nearly completely plugged. No wonder we had so much smoke in the house. Our fire is much happier now and so are we. There's nothing like the warmth of a wood fire.

Day 62 - Sleeping Beauty

At times Jeremy is a very deep sleeper. It's not unusual for him to fall asleep on the drive home from daycare. Allow me to carry him into the house, take off his boots and have him continue to sleep for multiple hours, even though we try to wake him up for supper, etc. Yes this is the same kid who gave up his nap at just over 2 years of age.

Day 61 - New Mailbox

Do you remember the old Ikea commercial with the lamp sitting at the curb discarded and sad. That's what I feel like we've done to our old mailbox. It was much needed though. I present you our new mailbox.

Day 60 - Patio Doors

Since we moved in I've been trying to figure out what kind of window covering to put on the patio doors. We need something to cut the glare on the TV which is particularly bad at this time of the year. Decisions, decisions.

Day 59 - Gold!

Today we were glued to the TV watching hockey as the Canadian men played the USA. It was a close game but Canada won. Yeah! DH and I also watched the closing ceremonies. We're sad to see the Olympics finish.

Eight years ago team Canada played team USA in Salt Lake City for mens hockey gold metal. Scott was a student at Brock, living in St Catherines. I was a student at Michener, living in Toronto. As soon as the game ended he drove me to catch the go train, and I took it, then the subway, then a streetcar to get to my place. It was like the whole country was partying. From kids standing on their lawns waving flags to a HUGE party in downtown Toronto. It was amazing to see.

Day 58 - Our Poor Mailbox

As the winter has progressed our mailbox has looked worse and worse. It is barely hanging on now and I'm sure our mail person is afraid it's going to fall on him/her with every delivery.
